Since I’m taking a break from the show (not quitting) for about a month or so, I have decided to diversify my content platforms and entertain other forms of content creation. I have recently built a retro gaming console out of a Raspberry pi and turned it into retro gaming paradise. Every gaming console from the Atari to the Neo-Geo (all retro Nintendo & Sega consoles) with over 20,000 retro games at my disposal.
As many of you all may know, the Sega Dreamcast (the most underrated console ever) was the last console I’ve ever purchased. Moreover, I completely fell out of interest from gaming all together. So my gaming experience is comprised of all games previous to this period. So I still pay homage to the old school!
With that being said, I was chatting with the Inner Circle one evening and they heard me playing Mario Bros. 3 in the background. Everyone in the chat insisted I consider a stream of live action retro gaming play with commentary. So I thought about it for a few days and now I am actual considering it, for gaming has become serious business. But will the People watch?
If I do plan on such a stream, it will probably be twice a month or a maybe a pre-recorded type of thing; not sure. Either way, this is one of the many ways I plan on diversifying my content and platforms. I would appreciate any feedback in the comment section if you wish to share.

I can see it now. Ghost is on pace for the first ever 10:45 handle. He just needs to nail the browser fireballs. He does it. The victory music plays, and then… Templeton chews and unplugs the controller, running off with it. The greatest beercan apocalypse of all time becomes part of Twitch history.
The gaming community can be cancerous drama whores sometimes but they are nowhere near as bad as pony fuckers and their ilk, so it should be a walk in the park for you. The advantages of streaming is there’s no editing necessary. Hell, you could probably convince a fan to create a highlight vid for you anyway. In fact, you may as well, since someone inevitably will with or without your approval. Getting revenue from both Twitch live and YouTube later? That’s multiple sources of income for the same amount of work baby. I know you say you’re only interested in retro, but if you ever do decide to try your hand at more modern games, you might consider subscriber events where fans can pay for the privilege of playing a multiplayer game with you. Another method is making Patreon goals where people can buy a vote and decide which game they want to see you play (out of your own pre-selected choices). Anyway if you do go the streaming route, be sure to bring along some good chat mods. Trying to keep an eye on a dumpster fire chat and play a game at the same time won’t work. I like the idea but I think Ghost should also entertain the prospect of playing some of the more modern gems of the last decade: Dead space, mass effect, spec ops: the line ect. Would be interesting to see his take on whether complexity has improved or hindered the fun that could be garnished from a gaming session given his current return/take to retro.

Go for it, man. I’d watch that anyday, cayuse i, too, enjoy the classic games.
You’ll really expand your base doing this. I’d recommend doing live playthroughs on Twitch. You’ll be surprised by how many autists are interested in watching someone else playing video games.
Hey Ghost. If you haven’t heard of it, consider DOOM 2016 if you want to try a more modern game.
Alternatively, any of the older DOOM titles would also be cool.
Usually most streaming gamers have a facecam, but unfortunately you’ve already stated you don’t want to show your face. But why not have somebody render a 3D version of your avatar and connect that model to a facial motion capture system. That way it shows visual reaction and it’s a unique way to stream because it hasn’t been done before. Of course I’m just brainstorming, but what the hell, right?
Camera-less feeds are incredibly common. Some of the best gamers in the world remain faceless.
I think it’s a great idea, Ghost. You could also include some retro PC games like the original DOOM or Wolfenstein 3D, which can easily be played via DOSBOX on the Pi.
Please do it Ghost, I can’t wait to watch you play some old games and give some insight into what you think about them. After all, you saw these games from the moment they were released. As others have said, perhaps you can use facecam with a custom ghost skeleton 3d model, I’m certain one of the TCR listeners knows how model.
